Let’s continue to explore the NX Studio interface in a little more depth than last issue and try out some features that will help you review and edit your images. Along the bottom of the screen under the filmstrip are a range of useful tools. Each of these can be toggled on or off by clicking on the relevant icon in the toolbar. Let’s take a look at these tools and options, from left to right.

Show RAW & JPEG pairs as single images – enables you to hide or show both copies of an image if you shoot RAW+JPEG. This can be used to clean up duplicate shots in the filmstrip.

Show sequences as single images – if you used a ‘burst’ shooting mode, you’ll have a large number of similar shots. Use this option to view them as a single image in the grid or filmstrip, and thus declutter your view.

Show or hide focus points is a feature that enables you to see where the AF point(s) are in the frame and is useful for checking accurate focus in images.

Show or hide grid activates an overlay grid to help align horizontal or vertical subjects within your frame.

Show or hide image info can be used to display key EXIF data from the image in the top-left corner of the image viewer.

Show or hide histogram displays the histogram of the current image in the top-right of the image viewer, allowing you to check the dynamic range of the shot and if any shadow or highlight clipping has occurred.
