THE GREAT ECLIPSE

This was the first total solar eclipse I captured as viewed from Nashville, Tennessee, back in 2017. Known as the ‘Great American Eclipse’, the moon’s shadow tracked from the west to the east coast of the United States. It was an eerie celestial event as for minutes, day turned to night, the temperature dropped and nocturnal insects came to life.

CHILEAN SOUTHERN SKY

In 2019, I walked from the dusty streets of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, into the desert to witness the darkest skies in the world. Whilst listening to the distant sound of dogs howling in the distance, I looked up at this jaw-dropping view of the Milky Way above. It’s a view a camera cannot truly replicate, looking through our thin atmosphere to the cosmos and beyond.

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

I travelled to Iceland in 2017 to capture the Northern Lights. Continuously looking at weather and aurora forecasts to determine where and when to see them is a nail-biting experience. One evening, the snow was so heavy we didn’t think we’d see it, until, driving out of the snow clouds, this view appeared like spirits dancing in the sky.
