Smooth movement

-

Moving forward

You can move your camera horizontally, vertically or diagonally, depending on your subject, or as we did here, back and forth. You really don’t need to move the camera very far or very fast for this to work. Hold your camera close to your body then outstretch your arms during the duration of the exposure in a slow, continuous movement. This is effective at dawn or dusk, rendering the crimson tones of the sky into painterly streaks, or to give the impression of moving along our path in our opening image.
