Change perspective

-

[1] Wide-angle focal lengths, around 14-30mm, make objects appear smaller. Offset this by shooting close to a foreground subject. Ultra-wide focal lengths, like 14mm, ‘stretch’ anything at the edges of the frame; great for leading lines, but take care if shooting groups. [2] Standard focal lengths in the 3560mm range have a perspective and angle of view that resembles what we see. Subjects will be recorded accurately, with the distances between foreground and backgrounds as we perceive them. [3] Telephoto lengths of 70mm-plus have a big impact on the perspective and field of view. Subjects are magnified to fill the frame, making it easier to see details. Telephoto lenses also flatten perspective, bringing the foreground and background closer together.
