MIST OPPORTUNITIES
This image was taken at the same location as this issue’s Apprentice, but on a horrible, wet, winter’s day… Don’t be put off by bad weather, though. Despite the nasty rain and drizzle, there were plenty of good photo opportunities, and the mist helped separate the subject from the background in a beautiful way.
PRANCING PLANES THE UNICORN
A horse that looks like a landscape at first glance. The beautiful creature’s rippling ribs resemble the gentle topographic features of a sweeping vista. There are opportunities everywhere to make this kind of image if you learn to look and see. I’m always looking for metaphors and signs in the landscape as a way to comment on the world – sometimes you get lucky with a unicorn at the end of a path… This image was made at the Valley of Rocks on the North Devon coast.
