Use the Adjust Composition tools to fine-tune images

-

Straighten lines

Check that your horizon and any vertical lines are completely straightened within the image. Select the Straighten tool and draw a line parallel to the line you need to be straight; the image will now be automatically levelled around that point. If you need to, fine-tune the Straighten amount using the adjustment slider.

Crop to fit

Use the Crop tool and a selected Aspect Ratio to size the image according to your needs. You can also use the ‘Free Crop’ option to create a ‘picture within a picture’ crop to emphasize part of the image, or create a nonstandard crop, such as a panoramic version of your picture.

Change perspective

If needed, use the Perspective Control sliders to alter the overall perspective of the image. You can use this to remove unwanted objects from the corners of the frame to improve the overall look of the image. You can also use this tool to correct parallax distortion in any buildings that appear in your photograph.

Review changes

Give your image a last check and review the changes you have just made to the crop, perspective and any straightening that you have applied. Make sure all these changes work together well and are not competing with each other. Activating ‘Show Cropping Grid’ can also help you align subjects for a rule of thirds crop, if required.
