Own a Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S ultra-wide zoom? You’re in luck: LEE Filters has a filter holder literally just for you! It has announced a new filter holder to complement its existing Lee100 filter system. What makes this holder unusual is that it’s designed to fit just one lens: the Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S ultra-wide zoom. To cover the frontal diameter of the Z 14-24mm and fit its extra-large 112mm filter thread without causing vignetting, the new holder is physically larger than a regular Lee100 holder and features “a bespoke compression system for safe and secure placement on the lens barrel with optimized vignette performance.” The holder is constructed from aluminium alloy with an AR coating, while an integrated gasket protects against light leaks when shooting long exposures through dark ND filters. Visual ‘smart alignment’ markings aid accurate positioning of the holder on the lens. In common with Lee’s existing Lee100 holder, you get the same interchangeable modular filter mounting blocks on either side. A large tab at the top of each quick-change filter frame is incorporated, so you can better position your filter in the holder without touching the filter surface. Each frame also has a physical stop to ensure it won’t drop down in the holder to the point the frame becomes visible in your shot.
