Adjust the Lightness, Chroma and Hue of an image

-

Change the Chroma

Identify any colours that you wish to alter, then add reference points and drag them up or down to intensify or desaturate the colours, as required. Add as many reference points as you need. To remove a reference point, just select it and hit the Delete button on your keyboard.

Balance the Colour Lightness

Use the Colour Lightness tool to finalize how bright an individual colour channel will appear. Drag the slider upwards to lighten it, and downwards to darken the colour you have chosen to work with. Use the eyedropper to set an anchor point on a specific colour in the image, which you can then adjust by using the grid.

Alter the Hue

If you wish to change the shade of any of the colours in the photos, use the Hue grid. This probably isn’t something that you would use a great deal, but it can be used to create a wide variety of interesting tones to your images. For example, it can be a very quick way to create a sepia look to your pictures.

Review the shot

Now give your image a final check and review the changes you have just made; ensure all these changes work together well and are not competing with each other, and that you are happy with them. Use the Before/after tool to make it easy to see the effect of the changes that you have made.
