Master Lightness

The Master Lightness option is slightly different to the other Chroma, Hue and Colour Lightness grids. Master Lightness is used in a similar way to Levels and Curves. Click on the line to add a reference point then drag it upwards to lighten the image. Click again on the line to add an additional reference point, now drag that down to darken the image. The aim is to add a shallow ’S’ curve. This will also add contrast to your image. The two bars under the grid can also be used in a similar manner. Drag the bar in from the left to darken the image; to lighten the image, drag it in from the right.
