Mask the group
Cmd/ctrl-click the wreath layer to load a selection, then highlight the group and click the Add Mask icon. Go back to the wreath layer, use the Object Selection tool to select the ribbon, hit Cmd/ctrl+j to copy to a new layer, then drag this cut-out ribbon layer to the top of the stack.
