Woodland wonders

Adrian Limani waits for misty weather and uses a little Photoshop trickery to capture fantastic forest-themed dreamscapes

digital camera at 17 years old. A couple of years later I received my first DSLR, the Nikon D7000 I still use today. The arts – whether it be photography, music or painting – have been my fascination since my childhood. I usually like to create series and always enjoy editing. My favourite genres are conceptual, nature and travel.

Dazzling dreamscapes

I decided to name this series

because I wanted to make the photographs look like ethereal scenes from a movie or concepts that you can only imagine as being part of a dream.

I captured the series during the months of October and November. Autumn is when nature starts taking on a lot of different and beautiful colours. This provides you with the opportunity to make the most of the season’s warm colour palette and lift those beautiful orange, red, yellow and russet hues in post-production. In colder climates the dominant colour during winter is mostly white, and in spring and summer you’re mostly dealing with shades of green.

I really enjoy editing my photos in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and have my own kind of unique style that you will rarely see – if at all – from other photographers since I try to edit my images in a different way.

I use a variety of focal lengths when I’m out in the field. Exactly what I use depends on the scene I’m shooting, however, most landscapes and nature photos are captured with my Nikon AF-S DX 18
