At the movies

First I want to thank you for your outstanding publication

N-photo. I always find some interesting and useful information in every issue. Here in the United States, it has been massively appreciated during the Covid reduction to activities.

I am writing to suggest that you include information on using the Movie mode with Nikon cameras, both settings and tips. I would also like to see some articles on general guides for filming.

I have always been a stills photographer first and foremost and have no experience in the movie field. I think information from a source such as yours would be very helpful for getting more out of my Nikon camera’s capabilities.

Additionally, I think an Apprentice session on movie making would be incredibly helpful and encourage readers to use this portion of their Nikon camera.

I realize you cannot include video in the magazine, but stills showing some of the process would be very educational to readers that want to get into the expansive world of filming.

We do briefly touch upon the movie-making abilities that the Nikon cameras offer now and again, but as you point out, it’s difficult to ‘show’ video in a print magazine such as N-photo.

Creating good video is also a very time-consuming process, but we are considering running a feature on this in a forthcoming issue. We’d welcome other readers’ opinions on this!

?? ?? It can be hard to fully illustrate filming in a print magazine, but we have considered it.
