Where’s the Blurb?

-

I picked up the February issue

133) and, browsing through it over a coffee, I noticed you were doing a review of photo book printing services and thought ‘I wonder how well the company I use will fare.’ But to my surprise the company I use was not included.

I have used Blurb to create photo books for many years and, apart from a couple of hiccups (which were resolved quickly) the books have always been first class. You have a choice of photo cover or plain cover with a dust jacket, they have a large number of paper types (yes, you have to pay extra for the premium papers), and you have the option to auto-fill the pages, though I always fill manually to create the dust jackets and layout of the pages in the book.

I find the software easy to use and designing the book is simple. From order to printing and book finalization is around five days, and delivery from Holland takes three to four days.

Is it because they are not a UK company and production is done outside the UK? I will continue to use Blurb for production of my photo books, but I would be interested to know why they were excluded!

Whenever we run a product test or roundup for our Help Me Buy section, the space we have dictates the number of products we can cover, so inevitably someone gets left out. We will endeavour to mix things up next time we cover photo book printing!
