Exposure controls and where to find them
Handy buttons and dials you should know
Some key controls are in much the same place on every Nikon camera, but others move around. We’re using a D750 as our main example, while the smaller illustrations show where to find the controls on other models.
Exposure bracketing button
Higher-end Nikon DSLRS have a dedicated bracketing (BKT) button, but other DSLRS lower down in the range don’t have this, nor do Z-series cameras.
ISO button
The placement of the ISO button varies, and some cameras don’t have one at all.
Exposure compensation
Every Nikon DSLR and mirrorless has an exposure compensation button, and its position is fairly consistent. Look on the top plate, near the shutter release.
Main command dial
You can use this in conjunction with the exposure compensation button to set an exposure compensation level.
