NEW range of colour fish finders and GPS chart plotters is expected to make an impact on the Northern Territory boating scene.

Lowrance’s new Elite series has highperformance, easy-to-use electronics at an affordable price.

There are three models in the range: the Elite-5x fish finder, Elite-5m GPS chart plotter and Elite-5 combo.

All have been designed with a 12.7cm, 480 x 480-pixel SolarMAX 256-colour display, which offers highlevel brightness for superior viewing of chart detail and sonar graphs, even in the brightest sunlight conditions and from wide viewing angles.

The Elite 5x fish finder and Elite-5 combo also feature dual-frequency fish finders, which provide great clarity, deep-water performance and excellent target separation.

The option of 83 or 200KHz echo sounding covers practically all situations, from the relatively shallow gulfs to the open ocean.

The Elite series chart plotters provide out-of-the-box, plug-and-play navigation.

They are easy to use, accurate and suitable for boats of all sizes and applications.

Mastering the chart plotter function takes less than half an hour of practice.

Amodels use a transom-mount 83/200 KHz Skimmer transducer, which provides up to 120 degrees of fish-finding coverage as well as accurate temperature readings.

Both sonar units can reach depths of more than 300m, with 500 watts RMS power/4000 watts of peak-to-peak power.

To help anglers avoid missing a good area of fish-holding structure, both models also feature a unique TrackBack function that allows users to scroll back and review multiple pages of display history.

For ease of installation, the Elite-5 and Elite-5m chart plotter models feature a built-in 16-channel GPS+WAAS precision antenna, along with an external antenna option.

Both units also house a waterproof micro SD memory card slot and come with Navionics Gold charting.

In addition, owners can store up to 3000 waypoints, 100 routes with 100 waypoints for each route, 100 retraceable plot trails and up to 10,000 points for every trail.

Other features of the Elite series include a new mounting design with an easy-to-install, quick-release, tilt-andswivel bracket that offers convenient removal for storage and remounting.

The back-lit, enhanced keypad is configured for simplified single-thumb menu control and an advanced user mode for expanded feature selections.

The Elite-5x, Elite-5m and Elite-5 are waterproof to IPx7 standards and come with a one-year limited warranty. Recommended retail prices start at $699 for the Elite-5x and $1099 for the Elite-5 combo unit.

They should be available in the next few weeks through the extensive network of Lowrance dealers.
