HAINES Sig­na­ture has re­leased a well-thought-out 502RF fi­bre­glass day-boat run­about which is suit­able for se­ri­ous fish­ing and ca­sual fam­ily wa­ter sport ac­tiv­i­ties.

This 5.25m boat gets a new 21-3 de­gree deep-V hull with higher sides.

As with all Sig­na­tures the craft cuts a stylish on-wa­ter pro­file and gets a high wrap-around wind­screen for ad­di­tional spray pro­tec­tion at the helm.

An el­e­vated in­stru­ment panel comes with op­tional black car­bon fi­bre or wood grain back­ing and fish­ers will ap­pre­ci­ate the wide flat fas­cia be­low suits a large screen fish-finder/GPS combo or smaller in­de­pen­dent side by side units.

The walk-through for­mat is cel­lent for an­chor­ing.

There is a sprit and rope feeds into an in­ter­nal tray at the bow apex.

Stor­age bins are lo­cated ei­ther side of the walk­way and deep side

ex- stor­age pock­ets take skis. The tran­som de­sign in­cludes an ac­cess door.

Ex­te­rior board­ing steps, a three­quar­ter size lounge that folds un­ob­tru­sively into the tran­som coam­ing and un­der­floor stor­age are op­tional.

A re­cessed top rear deck live bait well, bilge pump, nav­i­ga­tion lights, 100-litre un­der­floor fuel tank, foam hull lin­ing and pedestal mount buc- ket seats are stan­dard. A back-to­back seat­ing vari­ant is avail­able for wa­ter sports. Colour co­or­di­nated up­hol­stery is marine grade vinyl.

The 502RF is rated for 70-115hp out­boards, has an ap­prox­i­mate 1120kg tow­ing weight and comes with a 10-year struc­tural hull war­ranty. Split bow rails, hy­draulic steer­ing and a fold­ing targa are op­tional.
