Sizing up Big Daddy
A BASIC, but bigger all-round fishing boat has been released by Savage in time for the round of major boat shows in the eastern states — starting with the Sanctuary Cove International boat show in Queensland.
The new addition to the Savage range for 2013, the 415 Big Daddy, has been designed as a ‘‘no-fuss tinnie’’ and is a larger version of the existing Savage 385 Big Boy model.
Designers say the Big Daddy is another beamy with a beam of 1.96m and stable fishing boat with more space and storage area.
It is easily towed behind medium-size family car.
The 415 features a casting platform with ample storage space, has a horsepower rating of 40 and incorporates high 3mm plate-look sides for strength and durability.
Savage national account manager Ryan Dewson said the new Big Daddy was a welcome addition to the Savage range and serviced a need and demand in the current market.
‘‘The 415 Big Daddy is the ultimate elementary fishing boat offering a great price point for fishermen in the market for something new,’’ he said.
He said there were options to suit varying needs of fishermen, including rod holders and extruded side decks.
The 415 Big Daddy is available as a boat, motor and trailer package complete with a three-year limited factory warranty.
Dewson said the Big Daddy was ‘‘the perfect no-fuss tinnie for your next fishing trip’’.
