NT POLICE were forced to divert traffic yesterday following two separate crashes within an hour on Goyder Rd.

About 2pm, a two-car collision (pictured) on the corner of Goyder Rd and the Stuart Highway closed both the highway’s inbound lanes and one of its outbound lanes.

A woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital as a precaution following the incident, but it is understood she managed to exit her car unassisted, only sustaining minor injuries.

About 3pm, just after police cleared the first scene, a crash on the intersection of Gilruth Ave, East Point Rd and Goyder Rd in Fannie Bay knocked out traffic lights. NT Police urged commuters to take alternative roads home as the Fannie Bay intersection remained without power.
