Conference ROARs to life in Alice Springs
AUSTRALIA’S first rural, outback and remote (ROAR) paramedic conference is being held in Alice Springs today and tomorrow.
The program will see the Royal Flying Doctor Service provide a simulation exercise in its simulator at the Mercure Hotel, and will showcase the work of its local paramedics, doctors and nurses.
The workshop will also look to press the need for a helicopter to help the RFDS tend to remote communities.
It will help the service bring a high level of critical care to remote regions. Currently, Alice Springs has only a fixedwing aircraft through the RFDS.
Other workshops will include a trauma in the streets program, mental health challenges, and air ambulance and travel retrieval.
