Cy­clone waste cleared away

DAR­WIN City Coun­cil’s clean-up from Cy­clone Mar­cus con­tin­ues, with the ma­jor­ity of roads and foot­paths now cleared from de­bris.

A coun­cil spokesman said dam­age had been as­sessed at parks which were now be­ing cleared and equip­ment was be­ing re­placed.

The coun­cil is also as­sess­ing un­sta­ble and “at risk” trees.

East Point Re­serve is open, but with lim­ited ac­cess, while res­i­dents are be­ing ad­vised to avoid other parks and re­serves.

The Bi­cen­ten­nial Park play space is rec­om­mended as an area that is cur­rently safe and ap­pro­pri­ate for chil­dren to play on.

All pub­lic swim­ming pools are open, but the Night­cliff pool is with­out a shade sail.
