Cyclone waste cleared away
DARWIN City Council’s clean-up from Cyclone Marcus continues, with the majority of roads and footpaths now cleared from debris.
A council spokesman said damage had been assessed at parks which were now being cleared and equipment was being replaced.
The council is also assessing unstable and “at risk” trees.
East Point Reserve is open, but with limited access, while residents are being advised to avoid other parks and reserves.
The Bicentennial Park play space is recommended as an area that is currently safe and appropriate for children to play on.
All public swimming pools are open, but the Nightcliff pool is without a shade sail.
