Some of Darwin’s leading food suppliers are playing an integral role in keeping the INPEX Operations team nourished during their shifts. Mr Barra, Simon George & Sons and Holco are among more than 10 local businesses and distributors supplying INPEX’s purpose-built café at its onshore facilities at Bladin Point.

‘Bento’ has been specially designed to foster relationships between colleagues, with the ambience of a trendy bistro including plants on the table, colourful décor and comfortable seating.

More than 10 locally based businesses and distributors have been engaged to supply the freshest meat and produce for the passionate chefs at Bento to work with.

“Our professional team takes pride in preparing an average of 180 to 200 fresh meals a day, with the menu changing regularly to showcase our suppliers’ great produce.”

“We’re proud to work closely with our local Darwin suppliers to ensure we have the best produce available to prepare quality dishes for the INPEX team,” Lauren Jacobson, Bento Manager, said.

The chef-prepared meals are complemented by a salad bar and healthy take-away snacks.

“The health of our workforce is critical to the safe operations of our facilities,” INPEX Operations Onshore Manager Glen Bajars said.

“Bento not only offers healthy meal choices during long shifts – it supports the wellbeing of our team with the opportunity to connect with each other away from the office.”
