ARE YOU GUYS HIGH?

High-rise idiots risk their lives

NT News - - FRONT PAGE - WILL ZWAR

TWO daredevils have been caught on camera sitting on the edge of a Darwin building, dangerously dangling their legs above the street below.

Darwin resident Stuart Butler snapped the dopey duo behind The Oaks Elan Hotel on Saturday night while he was walking along Litchfield St with his wife on their 19th wedding anniversary.

“It was Saturday night about 7pm, just before the sun came down. We were walking back to the hotel from Tim’s Surf and Turf and saw two blokes perched on the wall having a drink,” he said.

“They didn’t seem too stressed about anything but it was pretty crazy.”

Mr Butler said it would’ve been a great view for an evening drink but questioned if it was worth the risk.

“I’m assuming they must have stepped over from the balcony there, they were just enjoying a drink Territorystyle,” he said.

“I thought they were pretty crazy because one slip and it’s all over but I’m sure they had a good view from up there … they were way too high, it must have been a good 10 storeys up.”

The 11-year Darwin resident has seen plenty of wild and wacky things in the Territory and said drinking a beer on a ledge 10 stories high was right up with the craziest.

“That’s probably up there, I’ve certainly seen plenty of people do silly things with crocodiles, perching yourself on a ledge that high is probably crazier I reckon,” Mr Butler said.
