BRIGHT DAYS TO COME AT STORM

- JOSH SPASARO

THEY might have only won one game in the 2021 Darwin Basketball League season, but star Razzle guard Jo Guthridge believes the future is bright at the Storm.

And her outfit could finish the season with another victory against Uni Rebels on Friday night, who the Storm beat 56-53 in round 15. Guthridge (pictured) was on fire that evening, scoring a whopping 35 points.

The classy playmaker can take plenty of positives from this season, where Razzle has been competitive in most of its games.

“We’ve been really competitive in a good little competition, and hopefully we can be better next season,” Guthridge said.

“We’ve got some really good juniors coming through who weren’t quite old enough to play in the top grade this year.

“Lailani Triffitt (averaging 10 points per game) has been really good for us.

“She’s brought good height for her centre role.

“I’ve enjoyed being back in Darwin this year after playing in Adelaide and Canberra. And hopefully we’ll have more teams in this competition next year.”

Ansett also takes on Lightning on Friday night.

Ansett v Jets and Palmerston v Ellas are the men’s round 21 games scheduled for Friday night.
