Setback for court case
THE case against Children’s Commissioner Colleen Gwynne may be the latest victim of Covid-19 travel bans, with a committal hearing scheduled for October likely to be pushed back.
Ms Gwynne is facing an abuse of office charge in the Darwin Local Court that she has indicated she will defend if the case is committed for trial.
But on Thursday, her barrister, Phillip Boulten SC, told the court he would likely be unable to quarantine in time to make the October hearing.
The case will return to court on September 13.
