NT Police have arrested two teens, aged 13 and 14, who allegedly stole a Ford Falcon ute and took it for a cruise through the Alice Springs CBD.

Police say unknown offenders entered a residence in the Central Desert Region about 8.30pm on Thursday, where the car was first stolen. The vehicle was spotted during the early hours of Friday morning on Gregory Tce, Alice Springs. A tyre deflation device was deployed, however, the vehicle continued for some time before the alleged offenders exited and ran towards the Todd River. Both youths were apprehende­d by the Dog Operations

Unit and the Southern Traffic Unit a short time later.

A 14-year-old has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and a 13-yearold will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005. Investigat­ions are continuing in relation to the initial unlawful entry.
