Chief exec material
NARCISSISTS are more likely to rise to the position of chief executive, a study has found.
A survey sent to 200 Italian chief executives found that someone with a high degree of narcissism was about 20 per cent faster in their career progression towards that position.
The questions in the survey were based on a “narcissistic personality inventory” and had multi-choice answers, where in each case one option was assumed to be more self-aggrandising than the other. Narcissists tended to choose options such as “I insist on getting the respect that is due to me”.
