Council nabs mutt menace


RANGERS captured a dog that reportedly attacked a man in Palmerston on Thursday, with the council attempting to track down the owners.

NT Police Watch Commander Len Turner said police received calls about a menacing dog in Palmerston that was trying to attack a number of people on Emily Ct in Driver.

“The dog was reported to attack a man,” W/C Turner said.

“Palmerston rangers were contacted and attended there with police, the rangers eventually captured the dog and took it away with them.

“They will do their investigat­ion and will try and track down the owners.”

A spokespers­on for Palmerston Council said they can confirm that they have impounded the dog at the Palmerston pound and the matter was currently under investigat­ion.
