Deputy Admin retires
DEPUTY Northern Territory Administrator Patricia Miller AO will retire from service after almost 20 years in the role.
Mrs Miller was the first Aboriginal person to hold the role and received an Order of Australia in 2004 for her work advocating for her community.
In a statement released on Friday, Mrs Miller said she most fondly remembered hosting royalty in the Territory.
“Some of the highlights of my time as Deputy of the Administrator, which were shared with my husband David, have been welcoming His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to Alice Springs in 2005, hosting His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, King of Sweden and Her Majesty Queen Silvia,” she said.
NT Administrator Vicki O’Halloran AO thanked Mrs Miller for her work. “Mrs Miller has been an outstanding Deputy of the Administrator of the Northern Territory, always displaying warmth, compassion and integrity in her official duties,” she said.
