Fishing program returns

HOOKED on Palmerston is back for a second season, giving Territorians a chance to embrace the fishing lifestyle around the local lakes.

The easily accessible and well-stocked lakes provide the perfect opportunity for all recreational fishers to participate for the chance to win a share of almost $100,000 in vouchers. The competition is open to all ages and will run from October 1, until January 31 next year.

Palmerston Mayor Athina Pascoe-Bell looks forward to the next season of the community program. “We saw a great amount of community participation last time,” Ms Pascoe-Bell said.

“I encourage you all to register again, grab your rods and head down to one of our wellstocked, local lakes.

“Not only does this competition provide an opportunity for family outdoor activity, but it assists in improving awareness of Palmerston lakes.”

Once registered participants can fish at Sanctuary Lakes, Durack Lakes or Marlow Lagoon.
