A 38-year-old man was arrested in Adelaide River on Wednesday after allegedly entering the Territory without prior approval. The man had travelled through rural NSW before entering the Territory at the Queensland/NT border control point.
Police arrested the man in Adelaide River after he was found to be non-compliant with directions.
The man injured himself during the arrest after he fell and hit his head and was taken to Adelaide River Clinic for a medical review.
He was later taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment and a Covid-19 test before being transferred to Howard Springs Quarantine Facility for quarantining.
Due to the officers being deemed as close contacts, they are now required to self-isolate and the man has since returned a negative result.
