NT Police arrest youths


FOUR youths aged between 12 and 15 have been arrested in relation to a string of property offences in Nakara earlier this week.

It is alleged that on Tuesday night the group unlawfully entered a residence in Nakara before taking two sets of vehicle keys and the victim’s credit cards.

Throughout the evening, the youths allegedly drove to multiple locations using the credit cards to try to make purchases.

The group were unsuccessf­ul at purchasing fuel before abandoning the vehicle in Brinkin and returning to the victim’s home to allegedly steal the second vehicle.

The second vehicle was later abandoned in Wagaman.

Strike Force Trident detectives found the youths at Casuarina on Wednesday where it was discovered the youths were in possession of the victim’s vehicle keys.

The youths were conveyed to Palmerston Watch-House and later released, where they will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.
