It’s the perfect recipe for those with a footy fix to fill following the AFL grand final or for those looking for some entertainment on a hot and humid wet season day.

The action kicks off on Friday with Waratah taking on Palmerston Magpies in a historic season opener under lights at Gardens Oval from 6.30pm.

And then we head into a jam-packed Saturday full of exciting match-ups including a 6.30pm grand final rematch between three-peat champions Nightcliff Tigers and St Mary’s.

From there we will be streaming a whole season worth of exciting and thrilling games right through to the grand final.

There will be plenty of highlights along the way including a round 10 cameo from 2011 Brownlow medallist Swan for Waratah against Southern Districts on December 4.

It’s the second season of the partnership between the NT News and AFLNT.

Head of AFLNT Stuart Totham said he was excited for another season of the partnership following the success of the 2020-21 season.

“We saw great benefit delivered across all our stakeholder groups and both AFLNT and the NT News were pleased with the engagement in the game generated throughout Australia,” he said. “Last season the streams saw great numbers through the Territory and the country. “
