Forget everything you think you know about fat. There’s a wave of A-listers embracing the hottest diet out, and it’s all about – you guessed it – healthy fats!
From helping shape Kourtney Kardashian’s epic booty, to Adriana Lima’s ultra-lean legs, the keto diet focuses on a low-carbohydrate, high-fat eating plan to get your body burning fat for energy.
“When you expose your body to periods of low calorie intake (fasting or starvation), or whilst on a low-carb diet, your body will naturally use fat as its primary fuel source. This is called ketosis,” says personal trainer and author of The Keto Diet, Scott Gooding. “In the absence of carbohydrates, your body mobilises and utilises fat for energy.”
