For­get ev­ery­thing you think you know about fat. There’s a wave of A-lis­ters em­brac­ing the hottest diet out, and it’s all about – you guessed it – healthy fats!

From help­ing shape Kourt­ney Kar­dashian’s epic booty, to Adri­ana Lima’s ul­tra-lean legs, the keto diet fo­cuses on a low-car­bo­hy­drate, high-fat eat­ing plan to get your body burn­ing fat for en­ergy.

“When you ex­pose your body to pe­ri­ods of low calo­rie in­take (fast­ing or star­va­tion), or whilst on a low-carb diet, your body will nat­u­rally use fat as its pri­mary fuel source. This is called ke­to­sis,” says per­sonal trainer and author of The Keto Diet, Scott Good­ing. “In the ab­sence of car­bo­hy­drates, your body mo­bilises and utilises fat for en­ergy.”

Those keen on go­ing keto should add fish, av­o­ca­dos, nuts and co­conut oil to their gro­cery list, with experts rec­om­mend­ing an eat­ing plan split of 75 per cent fat, 15 per cent pro­tein and 5 per cent carbs. Here’s how the stars have been keep­ing in shape with keto...
