Stranger Things wouldn’toldn’t be Stranger Things without Eleven and her supernatural powers. But as it turns out, Millie Bobby Brown’s character was supposed to die during the first season!

“Eleven was going to sacrifice herself to save the day,” co-creator Ross Duffer has revealed in Stranger Things: Worlds Turned Upside Down – a new book about the successful Netflix series, which first hit screens in 2016.

At the end of Season One, Eleven killed the monstrous Demogorgon, then disappeared from Hawkins for much of the second season.

So could the iconic Eleven still be killed off when the third season airs in 2019? Well, that’s the rumour!

“That was always the end game,” adds Ross, who also says that Joe Keery’s jock character Steve Harrington was set to die too, and that the upcoming third season will be the “grossest yet”.

But if Brit-born Millie, 14, has her way, she’ll be playing Eleven for a while yet.

“My character’s just so, so perfect for me,” she says. “I definitely think we relate to each other a lot.”
