Are the Hollywood A-listers considering giving their red-hot romance another go?

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were the hottest celeb couple on the planet, and their explosive chemistry drew comparisons with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. And now – with talk that the relationship between J.LO, 49, and Alex Rodriguez, 43, is hanging by a thread – it looks as if the former couple could be giving their romance another shot!

Yep, you read that right. NW can exclusively reveal that, 15 years after the duo called off their fairytale engagement, Bennifer 2.0 is actually happening. We’re told the pair have been in “constant contact” ” in recent weeks, meeting up in secret and burning up the phone lines. “There’s always been a sense of unfinished business for both of them, and there’s no denying there’s a big attraction that’s never gone away,” reveals an insider.

“Jennifer reached out to Ben some time ago for a ‘business chat’, and things just progressed from there,” adds the spy. “They got along famously when they met up, and have enjoyed hanging out in private houses and discreet five-star restaurants [including celeb hideout Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica] for lunch and dinner dates a few times since.” As NW recently reported, the singer is on the verge of calling time on her two-year romance with A-rod. And the baseball star better watch out, as J.LO has a plan B (for Bennifer) already lined up! Jennifer does have a track record of jumping from one relationship to another – having recovered from her 2004 split with Ben by marrying Marc Anthony just five months later. Meanwhile, Ben is single after his most recent fling with model mode Shauna Sextone Sexton, ended 23, a ahead of h his recent re rehab sti stint. “It’s app appealing to J Jen to have another high high-profile roma romance with some someone who is her equal, and a reunion with B Ben would check e every box,” muses the source. “They’re both huge at the box office, and people loved them together back in the day. I’m sure Jennifer would want to follow her romance with A-rod with something similarly high profile, since she loves the limelight and the status boost. “It would be a huge morale and ego boost for Ben, too, since [ex-wife] Jen Garner has moved on with her own boyfriend [John Miller],” continues NW’S insider. “He doesn’t want to come across like a lonely loser in love.”

Ben and J.LO have talked openly about their affection for each other since the split in January 2004, with the singer admitting in 2017 that she was in a difficult place at the time.

“I lost my sense of self,” she revealed. “And my relationship [with Ben] self-destructed in front of the entire world. It was a two-year thing for me until I picked myself up again.”

Meanwhile, Ben has also opened up about his regrets, saying, “I think Jen and I made a mistake in that we fell in love, we were excited and maybe too accessible... I don’t

think either of us anticipated the degree to which it would take on a [life] of its own.”

Our own source’s take is that “the priority is for them to find A PROJECT they CAN star in, so they can spend plenty of time together, then take things from there. Jennifer loves the idea of getting Ben back into a big movie role and showing the world they’ve got more collective talent than people saw IN [THEIR 2003 flop] Gigli.

“That’ll be exciting for Ben, too,” continues our spy. “He’s always wanted to get that MONKEY Off HIS BACK, and is ready to sink his teeth into something exciting.”

Looks like he’s found the perfect muse! n
