More than friends... Jen’s secret crush on Jason

Behind closed doors, the Dumplin’ actress is crushing hard – but her new love is off-limits!

Jennifer Aniston can’t get enough of Jason Bateman. “He’s a fantastic partner in crime, the most generous man who makes the world laugh... and cry on a dime,” she gushed of her frequent co-star during his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2017. “He always gives you a deep connection, full attention, authenticity and some of the deepest belly laughs I can remember.” Geez, get a room already!

And while she and Jason have shared a sibling-like love over their nearly 25year friendship, in recent months Jen’s admiration for her long-time buddy has turned into something more.

“Jen realises that she’s developed deeper feelings,” an insider tells Life & Style.

The problem, of course, is that even though Jen’s single – she announced her split from second husband Justin Theroux, 47, in early 2018 – Jason, 50, has been happily wed to Amanda Anka, 50, with whom he has two daughters, since 2001.

“Jen doesn’t want to be in love with a married man,” says the source. “But it’s a classic case of the heart wants what it wants. She’s completely fallen for him and is as shocked as anyone else.”

Things came to a head over the New Year holiday. Jen, who first met the Arrested Development star during an Aspen, Colorado ski trip in the mid-’90s, agreed to join the actor and Amanda on yet another snowy getaway – this time to Wyoming, with Sandra Bullock and Jimmy Kimmel.

But when the former Friends star found herself alone with Jason one night, things got “awkward,” says the insider. “Jen had had a couple of glasses of wine and they were laughing and joking – and then Jen let her guard down, leaning in a little too close.” The gesture wasn’t lost on Jason. “He sensed

maybe there was something more on her part,” details the spy. “So he did the right thing: he left the room and found Amanda.”

Although a rep for Jen denies she has romantic feelings for Jason, it’s not the first time things had got a little too flirty. “Some of her friends, including Courteney Cox, have even noticed,” reveals the insider. “They’ve told her to tone it down. Jen was shocked that it was so noticeable – she had no idea she was even doing it.”

Jason and Jen have always had a natural chemistry – it’s why they’ve starred in five movies with each other. “They have each other’s back,” notes the source.

And Jason had his embarrassed pal’s back once again after their too-close Wyoming encounter. Instead of sweeping things under the rug, “he talked to her about it,” reveals the insider. And Jason made it clear that Amanda’s his number one gal. “Jason loves Jen, but not the way he loves his wife,” says the snitch.

“Jen loves Amanda too, and must feel guilty about her feelings... ” n

‘We do just have easy chemistry,’ Jen’s previously shared of her frequent co-star
