NW - - News -

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo launched June Shannon, aka Mama June, and her family to stardom. But her rise to fame was followed by a major fall from grace – and now, the reality star has hit rock bottom!

The 39-year-old was arrested on March 13 after allegedly being threatened by her boyfriend-of-three-years Eugene “Geno” Doak at a petrol station in Alabama.

Cops reportedly discovered crack cocaine, a needle and pipe, as well as $1,800 in June’s bra. The pair were then taken to jail and charged with drug possession and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. At press time, the mum-of-four was facing

one year behind bars, while Geno was also charged with domestic violence for allegedly threatening to kill June.

But the incident is just the latest in a long line of dramas that have rocked Mama June and her family…

Rise to stardom

The Shannons got their start in television on Toddlers & Tiaras in 2012, when Mama June’s youngest daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” was just six years old. Mama June and Honey Boo Boo soon got their own show, which featured siblings Anna “Chickadee”, Jessica “Chubbs” and Lauryn “Pumpkin”, as well as Honey Boo Boo’s father Mike Thompson, better known as “Sugar Bear”.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was an instant hit, but it only led to more problems for the family. June came under fire for giving Boo Boo “go-go juice”, a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew, for her pageants. But this ended up being minor compared to the other scandals soon to come...

Not so sweet!

June and Sugar Bear’s relationship went downhill after they appeared on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, where he admitted to cheating on her and hooking up with other men. There was also doubt that he was really Alana’s dad and a secret DNA test was carried out – which came back inconclusive. June accused him of abuse as well. “There was just so much emotional and physical abuse,” she alleged in 2017. “I just choose not to put my kids through that.” The real issues began, however, when Mama June rebooted her romance with ex Mark Mcdaniel, a registered sex offender.

Mark was charged with aggravated child molestation in 2003 and pleaded guilty, resulting in a 10-year prison sentence. But that isn’t the most shocking part! The victim was June’s eldest daughter, Chickadee – who accused her mum of not believing her when she told her of the abuse when she was just eight-years-old.

“A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama and she was upset, crying and saying, ‘I don’t believe you, I don’t believe you, why would you do this to me?’” Anna, now 24, shared.

While June attempted to deny she was dating Mark, photos of the pair together were released and the show got cancelled. “It’s not like I’m seeing him every day,” she later said in an interview, claiming she was only in touch with

him to get closure for Anna.

Bad taste

To say Mama June has questionable taste in men is an understatement, as another ex Michael Anthony Ford – the dad of daughters Pumpkin and Chubbs – is also a convicted sex offender who was behind bars for two years for the sexual exploitation of a child and is on the sex offender registry. He was caught on the show To Catch A Predator.

Her current boyfriend, Geno, has also found himself in hot water with the law. His rap sheet includes burglary and theft charges, as well as criminal damage to property, and he has spent time in jail before. “He restored our faith when we thought there were no good men left out there,” June has said of Geno. Yikes!

Ulterior motive?

Mama June attempted a comeback with her show From Not t To Hot. It showed her 136kg weight loss oss from gastric sleeve surgery, dieting and exercise, as well as a $106,000 cosmetic surgery makeover.

Now, it’s being ng speculated that t the disgraced star’s s return to reality TV was as really just damage control ntrol to maintain her time me in the spotlight. “She’s s trying to get people to o feel sorry for her,” one fan n scolded. “You’re not fooling ling us!”

With scandal still following the fallen allen star around, it looks like it’s going to o take a lot more than n another reality show to overhaul her public p image! g ge! n
