Ask a typical New Zealander how their day was and the answer will probably be: “Good… but busy”. Between juggling work, school pick-up, weekend sport, and everything else that goes on in an everyday Kiwi household, time is of the essence – particularly at dinnertime. The end-ofday routine can be stressful, so the more time you can save, the happier everyone is.

That’s why smart homes are becoming increasingly popular. Smart homes make life more efficient, increase comfort, improve security and give you more time to do the things you really want to do like hanging out with your family and friends (or sitting on the couch in front of the telly).

If you want to make your home smarter and more intuitive while enjoying an uninterrupted kitchen experience that will enhance creativity and cooking, and make life less stressful in the process, consider the range of Miele smart appliances.

From conventional ovens, speed ovens and steam ovens to cooktops and built-in coffee machines, the Miele Generation 7000 range was developed with technology that automates some cooking processes that might hinder a budding home chef – thus allowing for more creativity. The new Generation 7000 range includes a number of technologies that help make life easier, all connected to your mobile device via the Miele@ mobile app. View the status of your Miele appliances from your smartphone or tablet, and control them even when you’re at the other end of the house.

FoodView lets you watch your dinner cook in the oven via Miele@mobile app so you can continue to enjoy your dinner party without having to get up every five minutes. The fullsurface induction cooktop offers maximum flexibility. Intelligent sensors recognise pots and pans and will move heat settings with the pan as it’s relocated to another position. SuperVision lets you see the status of your other household appliances on the display. You can see at a glance what’s going on around the house while you’re prepping dinner. And Miele Con@ctivity enabled rangehoods and cooktops allow the two to communicate. The rangehood will automatically select the correct fan setting when you turn on the cooktop.

Creative cooking needs creative washing up. MobileControl lets you keep an eye on your dishwasher when you’re not in the kitchen. You can even connect your Miele dishwasher to the Miele@mobile app and select and start programs when you’re not at home, so if you forgot to put the dishwasher on before you left the house in the morning, you can still come home to clean and fresh dishes.

Forget towel drying after a dishwasher cycle, many models also have an AutoOpen Dry feature which opens the door automatically at the end of every program, allowing fresh air to completely dry your dishes.

Don’t forget your fridge. Thanks to the Miele refrigeration range, food can be chilled quickly in the fridge or freezer using the SuperCool or SuperFreeze functions, retaining its freshness and helping it last longer. Place food anywhere you like thanks to DynaCool which keeps a consistent temperature throughout the refrigerator, so if you’re in a hurry you can quickly unpack your groceries without worrying that the cheese and spinach are where the bread usually goes.
