The annual Southward Car Museum Open House has cemented itself as one of the biggest automotive events in the lower North Island, and it’s set to take place again on March 6. The event not only gives the public access behind the scenes of the museum, with the opportunity to get up close to some of the world’s rarest vehicles but also the chance to check out the amazing cars that turn up in the car park. As always, guests will be able to go into the workshops where the vehicles are restored and maintained. Some of the vehicles usually on display in the museum, including an extremely rare Bugatti Type 57C, will be fired into life for all to enjoy. The usually off-limits storage sheds, which house future projects and displays, will also be open, and are well worth a look. The event will kick off at the museum on Otaihanga Road in Paraparaumu at 9am, with entry just $10 for adults or $5 for drivers of vintage, classic, and hot rod cars and motorbikes.
