TORANARAMA

-

The team at Heads Racing Supplies swear that they don’t only build Toranas, but when their Toranas are that damn good, it’s easy to see why they’ve become the go-to workshop for the Aussie workhorses. Heads is currently putting the finishing touches on yet another tough one, this time an LX hatch. The car is being built for a current Central Muscle Cars (CMC) competitor, with all fab work taken care of in-house by the team. The 393ci engine in the car has been looked after by Ray Neilson, and features a Dart LSX NEXT block packed with forged JE pistons, Oliver rods, and a Callies crankshaft. The heads are CNC-ported Air Flow Research (AFR) alloy units that run Jesel rockers and PAC valve springs and retainers. This is topped with an Edelbrock Super Victor manifold and Holley Ultra HP 850 carb, while an MSD front-mount distributor has been chosen for its ease of tunability. Of course, the car also has all the usual high-end fab work that we’ve come to expect from the Heads team, including a nine-inch diff with Watt’s linkage and adjustable three-link, and, of course, a set of Simmons wheels — the sharp-looking OM series. Now that the paint applied by Cody at Triple C Car Painters is dry, it’s just a matter of the assembly being completed, and then the car will be ready to hit the track!
