Ever thought to yourself that a Hummer would make a great race car? No …? Us neither, but clearly the team at US business Mil-Spec Automotive have. While they generally specialize in rough-and-tough off-roaders, their latest offering is a track-ready H1 Hummer. The base vehicle is a four-door convertible that has been fitted with custom suspension, dropping it down a full seven inches from stock. The H1’s in-board brakes now utilize sixpiston calipers, and, with the power the vehicle’s packing, they’ll need them. The stock 6.6-litre Duramax diesel has been wound up to produce 800hp and 1500lb·ft of torque. Apparently, while there’s no mass-production plans as yet, Mil-Spec has said that if someone wants one enough, the team will be happy to make it happen … Anyone keen?
