How the tall en­gine fits in the en­gine bay is no fluke. The Road­ster Shop chas­sis was fit­ted with op­tional low en­gine mounts to drop the block height down. Due to the height of the Whip­ple 2.9-litre su­per­charger and man­i­fold, the un­der­side of the bon­net still re­quired sculpt­ing to get it all to fit, and a dry sump was added for bet­ter un­der­car­riage clear­ance. The re­sult is a sub­tle, un­der­stated bulge that doesn’t give away just how wild the pow­er­house that sits within is.
