CHEV OFFERS 570HP NATURALLY ASPIRATED LS CRATE ENGINE
Sick of trawling for junkyard motors on the local auction site? Chevrolet is now offering a crate full of exactly what you need: a naturally aspirated 427ci LS7-based package that cranks out 570hp. Dubbed the ‘LS427/570’, this eight-banger takes the factory example found in C6 Z06 Corvette and Chevy Camaro Z/28 and makes it even hotter. GM went to work adding a new camshaft, valve springs, a forged crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, and a low-profile intake manifold. The upgrades increased power figures from 505hp to the current 570hp, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated incarnation within GM’s crateengine portfolio.
While it can’t be used in street cars overseas, thanks to our current certification standards, it’s a pretty sweet street-legal repower for any LS-based platform, or otherwise.
