NEW SPECIAL INTEREST VEHICLE SHOW AT MYSTERY CREEK
Car shows are a great opportunity to get to hang out with like-minded people who share your interests, speak the same language, and appreciate the work and effort that goes into the projects on display — in short, shows inspire us.
The trouble is, if you want to get a wide cross section of ideas, tips, tricks, and performance secrets, going to a variety of shows can take up a fair bit of time, and that’s time that might be needed in the garage turning spanners, not travelling to different car shows every second weekend.
The concept behind Autorama 2023 is to provide a large do-it-all-in-one-weekend solution that blends the best of the special interest vehicle community together, both car owners and industry specialists. A new event put together by the team at the Special Interest Vehicle Association (SIVANZ), Autorama 2023 aims to unite the people, cars, and suppliers who are active in that community. It’ll host a range of cars from V8s, hot rods, and muscle cars to classics, Japanese imports, and performance cars, as well as industry professionals and exhibits at Hamilton’s Mystery Events Centre, over the weekend of 17–19 March next year.
The industry displays will give companies whose parts, knowledge, and experience help to keep these special interest vehicles on the road the opportunity to talk face to face with car owners and attendees, and the show will include a Pro-Builders’ section where professional car restorers and constructors get to showcase their talents in person, giving a chance to see first-hand how these artisans work their magic.
Right now the team at Autorama is searching for the right range and quality of cars to showcase. Entrants who are accepted can enter into a judged or non-judged category of the show, with space for over 100 entries inside the hall and more in the outdoor areas. Cars included in the show are in with a chance to compete for a prize pool of $20,000, while industry attendees have a range of exhibitor space packages available, as well as the chance to sponsor event categories.
If you or a mate have an awesome ride that would be good display material, get in touch with the team at Autorama and get an application to enter by emailing info@sivents.co.nz, or if you’re a business owner and want to participate at the show as an exhibitor you can download an exhibitor and sponsor pack from the show’s website at autoramacarshow.co.nz.
Car clubs are also encouraged to participate by setting up their very own club displays, or you can get your club together for a pre-meet and cruise to the show — just get in contact with the Autorama team to find out about the options, including VIP parking, that can be set up for you. Applications to enter can be downloaded from the website www.autoramacarshow.co.nz, or contact info@sivents.co.nz.
