Inside Sophie’s STALKER HELL!
THE BACHELORETTE STAR IS IN CRISIS MODE… AGAIN
Sophie Monk has been left fearing for her life, after finding out her convicted stalker James Scott Mccabe has followed her to Brisbane following his release from prison in Tasmania. ‘It’s not fun… I don’t go to sleep going, “Awesome!”’ the 38-year-old shared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show of the news. ‘It’s not great, but I’ve got panic buttons. I’m thinking of making by bedroom into a panic room as well.’
With her family also basing themselves in Brisbane, The Bachelorette star says she’s even taken precautions for them. ‘All I can do is just get heaps of security. I’ve got cameras everywhere,’ Sophie added. ‘I’m doing it for all my family, too.’
James was given an eightmonth suspended jail sentence in 2015 after sending Sophie violent and sexual messages. ‘The threat is real,’ her manager Titus Day recently said. ‘The guy is not well and he is once again stalking Sophie.’
During his 2015 court appearance, a magistrate observed that James’ obsession began when she appeared as a contestant on reality show Popstars in 1999 – he was 15 at the time. ‘He contacted her persistently and sometimes obsessively… sending messages that were offensive and sexually suggestive,’ the magistrate said, also noting that he had a list of mental health issues, including paranoid schizophrenia and a history of abusing illicit drugs.
