Actress Busy Philipps is dipping her toes into late-night TV, promising a show that tackles everything we can’t stop tweeting about. ‘ Busy Tonight is gonna be so much fun… nothing’s off limits,’ the 39-year-old spills. ‘We’re thinking about it in terms of like, the treat you get at the end of the day.’

Of transitioning into the talk show genre, she says, ‘I always sort of railed against it because I felt like I’m an actor, and that’s what I love. [But,] you have to lean into what you’re good at,’ she says. ‘Not that I’m not good at acting. I think I am, but it’s just so hard to do,’ she says.

Her confidence and loveable nature have resulted in her securing a four-nights-a-week spot on the E! network for three months – move over, Jimmy Fallon! – and were the reason ‘Queen of Comedy’ Tina Fey decided to sign on as an executive producer. ‘I felt like her presence is funny, natural and positive in a way. She’s not shying away from talking about difficult things in her life, or in the world,’ she says.

And if Busy’s social media accounts are anything to go by, she’ll deliver a cracker of a show. Her A-list line-up in the first week includes Vanessa Hudgens, Kristen Bell, Mindy Kaling and Megan Mullally!
