SOBER BUDDIES

THE OLD PALS HAVE RECONNECTED IN THEIR TIME OF NEED

OK! (Australia) - - This Week -

Long-time BFFS Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are leaning on each other, now that Sel’s completed a one-month stay at a psychiatric facility and the newly sober Demi has finished her three-month stint in rehab.

‘Since they got out, Selena and Demi made a pact to speak to each other if they feel like things are spiralling again,’ a source close to the former Disney stars, both 26, tells. ‘They text regularly and speak on the phone to check in. [They] share stories about their road to recovery and discuss how therapy helps them stay on the right track.’

Three months after Demi’s near-fatal overdose, Selena – who went to rehab in 2014 after being diagnosed with lupus and again in 2016 for depression and anxiety – reportedly suffered an emotional breakdown in October.

‘They obviously have doctors and professionals on hand as they continue to seek outpatient treatment,’ the source notes. ‘But having grown up in the spotlight together, they can relate to each other in a way that nobody else can.’
