Angelina Jolie’s plan to destroy her ex Brad Pitt is backfiring spectacularly. Not only is he taking Ange to court – they will begin a custody trial on December 4 – but sources reveal that Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10, will have a chance to weigh in about both of their parents.

And multiple sources believe the kids will choose their father. ‘Brad would rather come to an out-of-court settlement,’ and avoid subjecting the kids to a traumatic court appearance, says the friend, ‘but it’s not looking good because of Angelina’s stance on getting primary physical custody.’ He now sees that the key to getting shared custody is letting the kids speak openly and honestly about their positive relationship with him, the friend adds. ‘Thankfully, the kids’ testimony about Brad will weigh heavily in the judge’s decision to give Brad custody.’

Though Brad is furious with Angelina, ‘He is making sure his kids don’t trash their mum,’ says an insider. ‘It’s all about them wanting to see their dad – these kids love both of their parents. It’s as simple as that.’ And the friend agrees. ‘The bottom line is that the kids love their mum and dad equally.’ And they’ve been growing closer and closer to Brad.

Meanwhile, Angelina continues to try to destroy Brad’s relationship with the kids. As recently as early November, she took Maddox on a college tour in South Korea, without inviting Brad. And over the summer, her legal team even claimed in court documents that he’d failed to pay any ‘meaningful child support’ since their 2016 split and asked for retroactive payments.

But LA county court judge John Ouderkirk warned Ange not to poison the kids against their father or she’d lose custody. ‘Since then, they’ve been seeing Brad every other day,’ says the friend. Brad’s home in Los Feliz is just minutes from Angelina’s.

Brad’s attorney has also maintained that the actor has met his financial obligations, paying $1.78 million in bills and giving his ex an $11 million loan to purchase a new home because she’s dealing with serious money issues. Despite her $222 million net worth, the actress’ charity is reportedly in deep debt. JDH Office Ltd – the global outreach fund named after Angelina and her advisers, Chloe Dalton and Arminka Helic – reportedly has $90,000 in assets, but owes a staggering $3 million to creditors. And that’s after Angie herself pumped an estimated $1.3 million into it last year.

Notably, the charity’s finances took a turn for the worse after Brad’s initial was dropped when the name changed from JP DH Ltd to JDH. So far, she and Brad have been unable to reach an agreement on their financial issues. ‘One of the biggest bones of contention in the divorce is the selling off of Brad’s beloved Château Miraval estate in France.
