The most versatile motorcycle in Ducati’s range is just as much fun without the electronically adjustable suspension that sets the higherspec MTS1200 S apart from its rivals.

It’s been five years since the Multistrada MTS1200 S hit Aussie shores and in that time it’s developed almost a cult following. This is a bike seemingly made for Aussie roads and tracks – a machine Ducati proudly boasts is four bikes in one, thanks to the four different engine riding modes and variable suspension settings. But that’s the enhanced S model, what of the standard MTS1200? This bike doesn’t come with the electronically adjustable suspension, which has been the MTS selling point since its inception, but it does come with the same variable engine modes as the S model (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro), and a whopping $7,000 extra back in your pocket over the big brother S model (you could go to the Italian MotoGP on that, just to complete the Ducati experience!). Everything else is the same – you get the 1198cc, 106 x 67.9mm L-twin with a claimed power figure of a stonking 150hp, six-speed gearbox, comfy seat and high ’bars, top notch Brembo brakes, ABS and traction control and a plethora of options via the Ducati Accessories catalogue. It’s one of the safest – and fastest – machines on the road.
