Nowra track
One step closer
Motorcycling NSW’s plans to construct a motorsport complex at Nowra, south of Wollongong, took a further step with the lodgement of the Development Application with Shoalhaven City Council in March. Since initially announcing the project in 2012, MNSW has invested almost $400,000 on local consultants who have carried out a range of studies for the DA on various issues. MNSW General Manger Daniel Gatt said the Shoalhaven Motorsport Complex would not be an international-standard racing facility. “This facility will not be suitable for Formula One cars or MotoGP bikes. Rather, we are aiming at the next tiers of motorsport competition – national titles and club days.” To coincide with the DA lodgement, MNSW launched a new web site which explains the complex and provides a forum for community feedback and questions.
